Yarn and Myself

What is this blog?

This blog is attempting to be many things, perhaps too many, from the outset. I've always searched for creative outlets, and the one I've kept coming back to seems to be my knitting. Maybe it's the repetition, maybe it's the people, maybe it's the sense of tradition and the idea that if civilization ends tomorrow I'll never be cold as long as I can chase down something furry (and get some nice exercise while doing it). If nothing else then I do need a subject to dwell on other than my life, since I tried that with a small blog amongst my personal friends and guess what? It turns out they don't seem to care overly much.

Who is this person?

Nobody seems to be good at introductions, but currently I'm a student, a retail worker, a reader, and a knitter. I have never particularly been a writer and tend to avoid it as much as possible. I have no aspirations of making it a professional career, nor do I really have the talent or the drive to do so. As for the knitting part, I learned the summer before I started high school and have been practicing it off and on ever since. That would make it about nine years now, and I know few other people in their early twenties who have been doing it for so long.

Why should I read it?

Quite frankly, I haven't really answered this question for myself yet either. There does appear to be a small sub-section of humanity who finds what I have to say amusing, and if there are enough of them out there then perhaps I can provide that service. My life seems to be one damned thing after another, often in quick succession. I've often wondered if other people have the same problems that I end up with. Either they don't or nobody seems to talk about it.

What about the yarn?

I do tend to do at least little bit of knitting each week. I can't promise frequently completed projects, or commitment to any one project until it's done, because I just don't tend to knit that way. I like to start new things frequently, and sometimes I tend to abandon them before I get too far along. I'll try to keep you posted on what gets frogged and what gets finished, eventually.

I do have a Ravelry account and I try to keep that updated fairly frequently as well.

Thanks for wading through this first wall of text, hopefully I can get some decent pictures by next week or so.
